Rahu Kaal or Rahu Kalam is a period of time in Hindu astrology that is considered inauspicious for beginning new activities. This time period is governed by the planet Rahu, which is believed to be a malefic planet. Rahu Kaal is calculated based on the sunrise and sunset time of a particular day and varies depending on the location and season. Timings of Rahu Kaal

The timings of Rahu Kalam vary depending on the location and season. However, in general, Rahu Kalam is considered to be a period of one and a half hours that occurs every day between the timings of sunrise and sunset. The exact duration of Rahu Kalam for a particular day can be calculated by dividing the duration of the day (from sunrise to sunset) by 8 and multiplying the result by the number 1.5.

For example, if the duration of the day is 12 hours, the duration of Rahu Kalam will be 1.5 hours (12/8 x 1.5 = 2.25 hours). The timings of Rahu Kalam will vary depending on the location and season.

However, there are some exceptions to this rule. For example, if the activity is related to the worship of Lord Shiva or Goddess Durga, it can be started during Rahu Kaal. It is also believed that performing certain rituals during Rahu Kaal can bring good luck and prosperity.

  • Friday Rahu Kalam Pooja will yield good results for Durga Parameswari Deeparadhana.
  • Sunday Rahu Kaal Pooja is good for Rahu Graha and Tue Rahu Kaal Pooja is good for Ketu Graha.
  • During the Amavasya Rahu Kalam timings, it is recommended to make offerings of coconuts, wheat, and bananas in order to lessen the negative effects of Rahu Graha.
  • It is advisable to recite the mantra during Rahu Kalam “Om Kaatyaaynaay Vidmahe Kanyakumarih Dheemahi, Thanno Durgih Prachodayaath”
