Kalyanotsavam Offline Service Procedure
In Kalyanotsavam, Instead of the primary god, Lord Sri Malayappa swami and his consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi are the recipients of the Srivari Kalyanotsavam ritual. An archaka is dedicated to carrying out various ceremonies on behalf of the bridegroom, while a purohit officiates the marriage. The Panchamurthi Puja precedes the wedding ceremony, which is conducted in accordance with Vaikhanasa Agama customs.
Following this, Vedic mantras are recited and the bride’s and the groom’s ancestry is declared. With a tera (screen) placed between them, the idols of the Lord and his brides stand facing one another. The bridegroom and the brides are permitted to leave once the priests do the necessary homas. At the right auspicious time, the screen is taken down, allowing the bridegroom and brides to see one another. Then comes the Mangala sutra dharana, Talambralu, and the garlands of the Lord and his consorts.
When Tallapakam Tirumala Ayyangar had the idea to celebrate the marriage feast of Lord Malayappa swami over five days in the Tirumamani mandapam on the grounds of the primary temple, the tradition of Kalyana utsavam was started.
