Special situations
Festival day cancellations, TTD occasionally cancels Special Entry on festival days (Brahmotsavam start, Vaikuntha Dwara Darshan period, certain temple-closed dates). Cancelled slots are refunded automatically. Check news.tirumala.org for current advisories before travel.
Group with mixed ID types, Aadhaar holders and non-Aadhaar holders can be in the same booking; the system accepts a mix as long as the IDs are valid government-issued types.
Booking from outside India, Pilgrims abroad can book on the TTD portal with passport. The booking flow is identical; pay via international card.
Common questions
Is Rs. 300 the same as Rs. 500 darshan? No. Rs. 300 is Special Entry Darshan (direct queue at the temple). Rs. 500 is Virtual Seva (sponsorship + later darshan visit). See the dedicated guide on Rs. 500 Virtual Seva.
How early should I book? 7 days in advance is the standard. Booking on the morning of the 11:00 AM release window with pilgrim details pre-filled is the difference between confirming a Saturday slot and missing it.
Can I share the booking with a friend who’s not in my family? Yes, up to five pilgrims per booking can be any combination of family or friends, all with valid IDs.
What’s the difference between e-Darshan counter and online? e-Darshan is the post office counter route in selected AP / TS post offices. Same Rs. 300 fee, same ticket validity. Online is the TTD portal.
What if the TTD portal is down at 11:00 AM release? The release moves to a backup window, typically 11:30 AM or noon. Check news.tirumala.org for the advisory if the regular slot fails.
