TTD Rs. 300 Special Entry Darshan, Booking and Reporting Procedure
Rs. 300 Special Entry Darshan is the priority queue option offered by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) for pilgrims who want a faster darshan than Sarva Darshan (free) without booking a paid seva. Bookings open online for the seventh day from booking date. There are no exceptions on quota, counter or website, the rules are the same.
This article covers what the ticket actually gets you, how to book it through the official channels, reporting and ID requirements, and the dress code TTD enforces at VQC-I.
What the Rs. 300 ticket includes
One Special Entry Darshan ticket per pilgrim, with a designated reporting slot. The ticket entitles you to enter the priority queue at Vaikuntam Queue Complex-I (VQC-I) and proceed to the main temple via the Special Entry Darshan line, bypassing the free Sarva Darshan compartments. Total queue time after reporting is typically one to three hours, depending on day-of-the-week footfall, though TTD does not guarantee a specific wait time.
Two laddu coupons are included with the ticket. Children below 12 years are admitted free with a parent’s confirmed booking, no separate ticket needed for the child, but the child must be listed on the booking at the time of booking, not added later.
How to book online
Use only the official portal: ttdevasthanams.ap.gov.in. According to TTD, every day 2,500 tickets are released online for the date seven days ahead, and a further 2,500 are released at e-Darshan counters across India in 2 PM and 3 PM slots. Online release time is typically 11:00 AM IST; quotas are exhausted within minutes on weekends and festival weeks.
Steps:
- Log in (or register) with the mobile number used for previous TTD bookings.
- Choose Special Entry Darshan – Rs. 300 and the date.
- Add up to five pilgrims under one booking. Each pilgrim needs a separate government-issued photo ID number.
- Pay via UPI, debit card or net banking. Save the booking confirmation PDF.
Reporting and verification at the temple
Reach VQC-I at the reporting time printed on the ticket. TTD’s stated rule is direct: the right of entry is forfeited if a pilgrim does not report before the expiry of the admission time. Late arrival is not a refund situation, the ticket simply lapses.
Carry: two printouts of the confirmation slip, plus the original photo ID for every pilgrim on the booking. Verification happens at VQC-I before the line splits from the Sarva Darshan queue.
Dress code
TTD enforces a traditional dress code at the Special Entry Darshan queue:
- Men: dhoti, pyjama, or kurta. Shorts and skin-tight clothing are not permitted.
- Women: saree, half-saree, or chudidar, with dupatta or upper cloth covering the chest.
Phones, cameras, electronic gadgets and luggage are not permitted in the queue line. Cloak rooms are available outside VQC-I.
Why book online instead of at the counter
For most out-of-state pilgrims, the online quota is the only practical option, e-Darshan counters require a same-day visit to a participating city and rarely have tickets available for popular dates. If your travel dates are fixed and the online slot for those dates has sold out, the realistic alternatives are Sarva Darshan (free, expect 6–14 hours queue depending on compartments open), or one of the paid sevas with a darshan component (e.g., Kalyanotsavam at Rs. 1,000 per couple), not “waiting” for Special Entry tickets to become available again.
One practical note: the online release at 11:00 AM is the only consistent way to secure Rs. 300 tickets for weekend dates. Booking on the morning of release, with a fast internet connection and pre-filled pilgrim details, is the difference between getting a ticket and not.
Cancellation policy
TTD’s published policy is unambiguous: all bookings are final. Postponement, advancement, cancellation and refunds are not allowed. Plan your travel before booking, not after.
Common questions
Is the Rs. 300 ticket the same as the Rs. 500 ticket? No. The Rs. 500 product is Virtual Seva, pilgrims sponsor a seva that priests perform on their behalf, watch it on SVBC, and receive a Special Entry Darshan ticket as part of the package within one year of the seva. The Rs. 300 ticket is a direct Special Entry Darshan booking only.
Can children get separate Rs. 300 tickets? Under-12s are admitted free with a parent’s booking and do not need separate tickets, but they must be added to the booking at the time of payment with an ID.
What if my reporting time clashes with a temple festival? TTD reserves the right to suspend Special Entry on festival days. Check news.tirumala.org for current advisories before travel.
For the latest quotas, festival-day notices and any change in dress code or reporting procedure, the only authoritative source is ttdevasthanams.ap.gov.in.
