Section 80G tax exemption

All TTD trust donations qualify for tax exemption under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961. TTD sends a Section 80G receipt with the donor passbook. Keep the original receipt for income tax filing, the receipt is the primary document required by the Income Tax Department.

How to choose between trusts

The donor privileges are largely identical across the major trusts, the differentiator is the cause:

  • Annaprasadam trust, funds the daily meals you and other pilgrims eat. Direct, tangible impact.
  • Anantha Swarnamayam, funds the temple’s gold work. Visible legacy.
  • Heritage Preservation, funds restoration of TTD’s smaller temples across AP.
  • Gosamrakshana, funds the cow protection programme. Tradition-rooted.
  • Vedaparayana, supports Vedic scholars and chant traditions.
  • SVBC Trust, funds the free TV broadcasting that pilgrims watch from home.
  • Kalyana Trust, funds free mass marriages of poor couples.
  • Vidya Vidyalayam, funds free education for children.
  • Alayala Nirmanam, funds new temple construction in villages.

Choose by cause that resonates with you personally, the privilege set is the same.

Claiming annual privileges

For donor-tier devotees, privileges are not automatically scheduled. Apply in advance:

  • VIP Break Darshan, apply 30 days ahead via TTD JEO’s office with donor passbook
  • Donor-tier accommodation, book 60 days ahead through the donor portal; preferred Padmavathi / Vaikuntham allotments
  • Suprabhata seva slots, apply 90 days ahead with date preferences
  • Veda Ashirvachanam, apply 30 days ahead with date and family member list

Common questions

Is the privilege set the same across all trusts? Yes for the same donation tier. A Rs. 10 lakh donation to Annaprasadam Trust unlocks the same privileges as a Rs. 10 lakh donation to Anantha Swarnamayam Trust. The cause differs, the privilege set is identical.

Can multiple smaller donors combine for higher-tier privileges? No. Each donation record stands alone. Three Rs. 3 lakh donors don’t get Rs. 10 lakh privileges, each gets their own Rs. 3 lakh-equivalent privileges.

Are NRI donations accepted? Yes. International payments accepted via the TTD portal. Section 80G applies for Indian PAN holders; non-PAN holders get receipts only.

Can a company donate? Yes. Companies and corporate donors are accepted. Privileges are time-bound (typically 20 years) rather than lifetime.

How to verify a donation? Log into tirumala.org with your donor mobile number to see the donation record under your profile.

What about the Goshala? The Sri Venkateswara Goshala is a TTD-run cow protection facility. The Gosamrakshana Trust funds this. The Sri Venkateswara Gosamrakshanasala is the physical location, visitors can visit Goshala during temple hours.
