MBC Rooms Tirumala, Booking, Allotment and What to Expect
MBC (Mahati Block Counter / Mahati Block Complex) is one of TTD’s main accommodation complexes on the Tirumala hill, with the SVGH MBC 34 allotment counter operating 24 hours. Rooms in the MBC block range from Rs. 100 (on-arrival, token-based) to higher tariff AC rooms (bookable in advance through the TTD portal). MBC is located near the JEO’s office, approximately a 20-minute walk from the CRO (Central Reception Office) near the Tirumala bus station. Room allotment is for 24 hours from actual check-in; one-day extension is possible at the same MBC 34 counter.
Where MBC is
MBC is on the Tirumala hill, located close to:
- JEO’s office (Joint Executive Officer of TTD)
- About 20 minutes walking distance from the CRO and Tirumala bus station
- Approximately 15-25 minutes walk to the Mahadwaram (main temple entrance) depending on which sub-block
The walk is mostly along well-lit, paved internal roads. TTD’s Dharma Ratham free electric buses also stop nearby for pilgrims who prefer not to walk.
Room categories at MBC
- Rs. 100 dormitory / basic rooms, token-based on-arrival allotment; the most in-demand category
- Rs. 150 non-AC rooms, slightly larger; on-arrival
- Rs. 500 to Rs. 1,000 non-AC family rooms, bookable in advance online
- Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 2,000 AC rooms, bookable in advance online for the 60-day window
The lower-tariff MBC rooms (Rs. 100, Rs. 150) are not in the online advance pool. They are allotted through the on-arrival token system that TTD operates across six counters in Tirumala (GNC Tollgate, Balaji Bus Stand, Kausthubham Rest House, Rambagicha Rest House, MBC, CRO).
How to book in advance (Rs. 500+)
- Log in to ttdevasthanams.ap.gov.in with the head pilgrim’s mobile number.
- Choose Accommodation, then Tirumala, then MBC.
- Pick your dates and room category. Daily release window is around 11:00 AM IST.
- Enter every pilgrim’s name and government-issued photo ID number. Children below 12 must be added at booking.
- Pay via UPI, debit card or net banking. Save the booking confirmation PDF.
How to get a Rs. 100 / Rs. 150 MBC room on-arrival
- Reach Tirumala and walk to the MBC counter (or CRO / Balaji Bus Stand / GNC / Kausthubham / Rambagicha, any of the six registration counters).
- Register with the head pilgrim’s Aadhaar and mobile number.
- Receive a token. SMS confirms the allotment when a room is ready.
- Walk to the MBC sub-block indicated in the SMS and collect the room key.
Realistic wait: 2 to 6 hours on weekdays, 6 to 12 hours on weekends and festival days. Allotment is not guaranteed; weekend pilgrims should have a backup plan (Tirupati city accommodation if MBC tokens are exhausted).
Check-in and check-out
The SVGH MBC 34 allotment counter operates 24 hours, so check-in can happen at any time. Room allotment is for 24 hours from actual check-in time. For example, check in at 4:00 PM today and check out by 4:00 PM tomorrow.
One-day extension is possible, visit the MBC 34 counter before your 24-hour slot expires and request the extension. Subject to availability; extensions are easier on weekdays.
On-site facilities at MBC
- Basic mineral water dispensers in the lobby

- e-Swipe digital lockers for valuables
- 24-hour reception desk for queries and extensions
- Hot water (geyser) in all rooms
- Basic bedding provided, bring your own toiletries
- TTD information notices and route maps posted in the lobby
What MBC does not have
- In-room dining or room service
- Air conditioning in the Rs. 100 / Rs. 150 rooms (most basic blocks are non-AC)
- Television (some blocks have TVs in common areas)
- Direct restaurant on-premises, eat at the TTD annaprasadam halls or vendor stalls outside the complex
MBC vs other TTD Tirumala blocks
- vs Padmavathi Rest House, Padmavathi has more AC family rooms, larger inventory. MBC is more dormitory-style and basic-tariff focused.
- vs Vaikuntham Rest House, Vaikuntham is also basic-tariff; MBC is slightly closer to the JEO’s office which some pilgrims prefer for proximity to TTD administrative services.
- vs HVOC blocks, HVOC is the oldest TTD accommodation; MBC is a newer block with cleaner amenities and more secure layout.
For most first-time pilgrims, the MBC option is a reasonable middle ground, basic but maintained, easy to find, 24-hour counter.
Common questions

Can I extend my stay at MBC beyond one day? Yes, up to one extension is permitted at the counter. Multiple-day stays require multiple back-to-back bookings.
Are non-Indian (foreign) pilgrims allowed at MBC? Yes, passport is accepted in lieu of Aadhaar. The booking process is the same.
